Individual Contributor (IC) Guide
As an IC, G4mify is where your contributions to strategic initiatives are recognized and rewarded. Your Manager handles initiative tracking and point dispensing — think of G4mify as where outcomes are celebrated, not where daily work is submitted.
What You Can See
Your Dashboard
Your dashboard gives you a snapshot of your current standing:
- Active initiatives — initiatives you're currently contributing to
- Points earned — your total points across all initiatives
- Tier badge — your Gold, Silver, or Bronze standing (see below)
- Your rank — where you stand on the leaderboard
- Recent activity — points awarded, initiative updates
Strategic Initiatives
The Strategic Initiatives page has two tabs:
- My Initiatives (default) — initiatives you're currently contributing to, showing your earned points and allocation
- All Initiatives — browse every active initiative in your organization (cancelled initiatives are excluded)
On the All Initiatives tab you can filter by status, owner (manager), and point tier, or search by title. Each initiative card shows:
- Title, description, and success criteria (expandable)
- Status (Backlog, Assigned, Blocked, Pending Completion, Completed)
- Who's contributing and the Owner (Manager)
- Point tier badge indicating the initiative's relative value
Click any card to view the full initiative detail page.
Point Tiers
Initiatives are labeled with tier badges that indicate their relative scale:
| Tier | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Gold | High-value strategic initiative |
| Silver | Medium-value initiative |
| Bronze | Standard initiative |
Leaderboard
The leaderboard shows organization-wide rankings by total points earned. You can filter by time period (this month, quarter, year, all time) and by team.
How You Earn Points
1. Get Assigned to an Initiative
Your Manager adds you as a contributor to a strategic initiative and sets your allocation percentage. This determines your share of the initiative's total points.
2. Do the Work
Your actual work happens outside G4mify — in meetings, Teams/Slack, code reviews, design sessions, or wherever your team collaborates. G4mify tracks the outcomes, not the daily activity.
3. Checkpoints
Your Manager will periodically review progress and dispense partial points based on what's been accomplished. You don't need to submit anything in G4mify — your Manager initiates the review. At each checkpoint, your Manager awards points to contributors based on work completed since the last review. Not every contributor receives points at every checkpoint — it depends on what was accomplished in that period.
4. Completion
When the initiative is done, your Manager submits a completion request for Admin review. The Admin assigns a completion tier (Full, Partial, or Incomplete) and remaining base points are distributed. Your Manager may also award an IC bonus for exceptional contributions.
Navigation
Your sidebar navigation includes:

- Leaderboard — organization-wide rankings with time and team filters
- Strategic Initiatives — two tabs: "My Initiatives" (yours) and "All Initiatives" (org-wide discovery with filters)
- My Team — your team members and their contributions
FAQ
Do I submit work through G4mify?
No — your Manager tracks progress externally and awards points through the platform. Think of G4mify as where outcomes are recognized, not where daily work is submitted.
Why do I see tier badges instead of point values?
Initiative point values are shown as tier badges (Gold, Silver, Bronze) to give you a sense of each initiative's relative scale. You can always see the exact points you've earned on your own initiatives.
How are my points calculated?
Your points are based on your allocation percentage of the initiative's calibrated total. For example, if you have 40% allocation on a 100-point initiative, you're eligible for up to 40 base points. Your Manager may also award an IC bonus at completion for exceptional work. Your allocated points total on the leaderboard reflects base points only (not potential bonus).
What happens if I'm removed from an initiative?
If your Manager removes you from an initiative (e.g., due to role change or reassignment), all points you've already earned are permanent. There is no clawback of dispensed points. Your earned points continue to count on the leaderboard.
Can I see initiatives I'm not assigned to?
Yes! The All Initiatives tab on the Strategic Initiatives page lets you browse every active initiative in your organization. You can see titles, descriptions, status, contributors, and point tier badges showing each initiative's relative scale. Cancelled initiatives are excluded from this view.
What happens if my account gets locked?
After 5 failed login attempts, your account is temporarily locked. Wait a few minutes and try again, or ask your Admin to help.
